Thank you for participating in the 2017 Lincoln/Lancaster County Producer Survey. This survey is research being conducted by a graduate student from the University of Nebraska at Omaha who is also working with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Food Policy Council in Lincoln, NE (IRB # 670-14-EX). The purpose of this research is to help create a more accurate picture of how many farmers are participating in the Lincoln-Lancaster County market. It should take less than one hour to answer 69 possible survey questions.
There are no anticipated risks for participating in this research. Possible benefits to you include raising awareness which could eventually be favorable for policy change/development. This study may also help expand general knowledge about local food production and the flow of local food into specific population centers. This may provide another tool for other individuals, governments, and organizations seeking to more accurately assess the condition of their local food system so that they may take steps to improve the health of their communities.
By completing this survey you are giving your permission for your responses to be used in public reports and academic research. However, your individual responses will be kept confidential and not reported in any way to identify you or your farm business. The information you share will not be sold, the goal is to report at the group level how much local food is coming into the Lincoln community from local sources.
You can end your participation in the survey at any time by closing the survey without completing it. Answers up to the point of exiting the survey will be saved and included in reports and academic research.
If you have any questions or concerns about the survey please contact Megan McGuffey at mmcguffey@unomaha.edu.
