Thank you for your interest in bringing your students to visit the University of Nebraska at Omaha! Tours provide participants with a chance to explore UNO's campus. Because of these experiences and for your safety, the Office of New Student and Family Programs has set some important policies and expectations to make your trip more enjoyable. Adhering to these regulations will not only enhance the enjoyment of your trip, but will also ensure the safety of all students.

Policies

  • Groups must stay together at all times. It is of utmost importance that your Ambassador and/or chaperone know where all group participants are.
  • Groups must have at least 1 chaperone for every 15 students and chaperones must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Chaperones must accompany their group for the entirety of the visit.
  • Visit itineraries are contingent upon the availability of student ambassadors, admissions staff, campus partners, and classroom space.
  • If you wish to schedule tours or presentations with other departments on campus, please contact the Campus Visit Coordinator to schedule these for you.
  • You must notify the Campus Visit Coordinator with any changes to your visit 3-4 business days prior to your visit. Please note: any changes in the number of people attending, as well as times of arrival or departure, may affect presentations and tours offered.
  • If your group arrives late, your visit itinerary may be changed at the discretion of the Campus Visit Coordinator. Our tour ambassadors are current students and may not be available beyond the scheduled time.
  • The University reserves the right to postpone or cancel your visit in the event of inclement weather or unexpected circumstances. If classes are canceled at UNO, all campus tours will also be canceled. UNO will post closing information on their website, and you will be notified of these changes as soon as possible.

Expectations

  • Please do your best to arrive at the specified check-in time and location.
  • Chaperones are responsible for monitoring the behavior of their students at all times.
  • Please set expectations with students prior to your visit. Students should be respectful toward the student ambassadors and presenters; as well as our institution, campus, and community. Our ambassadors reserve the right to end a tour at any point due to inappropriate behavior.
  • During presentations and the tour, students should have all electronic devices silenced and put away.
  • Please remember that while your group is on its visit, classes are still in session, and we need to be mindful of all students and faculty.
  • This can include an outside walking tour and students should wear appropriate footwear and outerwear.
  • Students are responsible for their own belongings and should keep all valuables with them at all times.
  • Visits are more beneficial if the group comes prepared with questions!
