UNO Faculty Senate Maverick Trailblazer Award Nomination Form
ABOUT THE AWARD: The UNO Faculty Senate proudly presents the Maverick Trailblazer Award, recognizing a full-time UNO faculty member who embodies the Maverick Spirit through exceptional contributions to our university, the Omaha community and beyond. This award will honor a faculty member who has demonstated outstanding achievements in teaching, research/creative activity, and/or service. These efforts should extend beyond the nominee’s discipline, and include connections, collaborations, and innovations that make them a trailblazer among their peers.
Three finalists for the Maverick Trailblazer award will be selected by the Faculty Senate’s Engagement committee and a single winner will be confirmed by the full Faculty Senate, allowing UNO faculty to recognize and honor one of their own.
The award winner will be required to give a public lecture, suitable not only for a broad university audience but also accessible to the broader Omaha community. The award winner will also receive an honorarium of $3,000. The Maverick Trailblazer Award will be awarded annually.
Nominations are due January 15, 2025 by 11:59pm CST.
The winner selected by the Faculty Senate will be required to give their keynote lecture in the late afternoon/evening of April 15th, 2025 at the Strauss Performing Arts Center. Exact times are still TBD.
