Are you seeking a community engagement resource at UNO?
This Community Engagement Roadmap connects community members and organizations, as well as UNO students, faculty, and staff, with resources that start, enhance, and promote meaningful community engagement and outreach with local, regional, and international communities.

We've organized this Roadmap by the user type (individuals and organizations from the community, current and future UNO students, and UNO faculty and staff). Regardless of who you are, you'll find community engagement resources available throughout our campus!

Examples of resources you'll find by using this Roadmap:
  • Student volunteers and interns, access to subject-matter experts, and information on non-credit/professional education for community members and organizations
  • Hands-on learning through service learning, internships, etc., volunteer experiences outside of the classroom, and engaged research opportunities for UNO students
  • Service learning/engaged teaching, community-engaged research and funding opportunities for UNO faculty and staff
  • Information on public events and special interest opportunities

If you need anything, please contact the UNO Office of Engagement on our contact us website page.
What is Community Engagement?
UNO defines community engagement as "the collaboration between the University and its local, regional, national and global communities for the exchange of knowledge and resources." Community engagement and service are fundamental components of UNO's identity. This commitment is reflected in UNO's academics, student body, partnerships, and institutional framework.
