Thank you for your interest in the MavEd Innovators Professional Learning Community (PLC): Advancing General Education Across Campus, a supportive foundation and sustainable mechanism for full- or part-time faculty and staff members to engage in collaborative conversations about UNO's general education curriculum and pedagogy. It will also provide a vehicle to recognize outstanding teaching, staff support, and innovation within the general education program. The PLC will involve regular meetings where participants will discuss the following as related to general education:
(1) course design and delivery
(2) student and community engagement
(3) assessment and feedback strategies
(4) critical thinking and integrative learning
(5) learning needs and enhanced academic success
(6) mechanisms for assessing the continued vitality, impact, and direction of the general education curriculum
(7) faculty and staff recognition
Faculty who are also participating in the incentivized MavEd Course Design Workshops – Realizing the Hope of General Education or MavEd Orientation: Teaching for Impact in UNO’s Revised General Education Curriculum are encouraged to also participate in the PLC. (Faculty wishing to enroll in either of these should contact
Matt Tracy or
Connie Schaffer for additional information).
