How many years have you been administering Federal Work Study (FWS) for your department?
Are you responsible for the PAF (Personnel Action Form) administration for your area?
Do you handle the payroll duties of the Federal Work Study (FWS) students of your business area?
How does your department handle timekeeping (enter/approve time worked) for Federal Work Study (FWS) student employees?
How many FWS student employees does your office typically employ during an academic year?
How satisfied are you with the Office of Financial Support and Scholarships communication with your area regarding Federal Work Study matters?
Were you aware of the ability to view student FWS allocations directly in PeopleSoft?

By setting up access, you do not have to have students turn in proof of FWS.
When the UNO Office of Financial Support and Scholarships initially awards students a Federal Work Study allocation for the academic year, an allocation of up to $3,200 (both Federal and Department shares) is awarded. In your past experience, is the amount awarded sufficient for most of your student employment needs?
Annually Academic Affairs assigns business areas that request FWS funding a Unit allocation. Academic Affiars also distributes a usage report and is separate from the FWS allocation from Financial Support and Scholarships. Do you understand your unit allocation and how the report works?
What is your level of understanding with University resources available to assist your area with Federal Work Study budgeting, timekeeping, and reconciliation? (SAP/Firefly, Reports from Accounting Services,  spreadsheet to track FWS hours, budget share between Federal and department, etc)
A Federal Work Study training session would be helpful for me and my department.
